Service Revenue — even for shoes!

I saw an ad on page 3 of the Wall Street Journal from the shoe maker Allen Edmonds. They make high end dress shoes that the wall street types wear. The ad was for "Recrafting" of shoes,  marketing-speak for shoe repair. For $85, send in your shoes, and they will fix them up like new. These are $300+ shoes, so fixing old shoes makes sense.

I don't think shoes are ready for remote service software (yet), but it reinforces the point that when revenue is dropping on the product side of the business, service has an opportunity to fill the void. What creative opportunities are there for service revenue in your business?
